GLC Annual Celebration: COVID-19 Update
|
In an earlier communication the GLC office pledged to let the GLC churches know by April 1 how we will accomplish the Annual Celebration. By law, all Ohio incorporated nonprofit entities (which we are) must have an annual meeting of, and report to, its members. So, simply canceling the meeting and waiting until next year is not a good option.

This week, the GLC Executive Board will be considering a variety of other options, including virtual/digital possibilities for the meeting or postponing to later in the year. We anticipate that the GLC board will have decided on an option by this Friday (March 20). The GLC office will then communicate the plan to the churches.
|
In the meantime, please hold off registering for the Annual Celebration until the new meeting plan has been established.

All ECC events have been postponed or cancelled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our priority is your safety and wellbeing. We are currently reviewing next steps. Once we have collectively finalized the schedule, we will send out an email with related updates including logistics.

We are aware that churches are using FaceBook Live, YouTube Live and ZOOM for online worship. If your church is making an online experience available, please share that with us at the GLC so that as necessary, we can point others your direction.

In conjunction with the GLC Annual Meeting, the ECC ($85) and GLC ($50) annual Ministerium dues for the year 2020 are due. Customary deadline is by the time of the GLC Ministerial Association Annual Meeting (April 24, 2020, Sanctuary Columbus Church, Columbus, OH).

The Annual Meeting is the highest legislative session in the ECC. Gather is much more than a business session. It is a time to worship God together, celebrate what God is doing through the Covenant around the world, and to encourage one another to greater discipleship.
