GLC Church Chair Training Event

Thirty eight Church Chairs and other elected leaders from 24 GLC churches in 5 states came together on a recent Saturday to be equipped with skills to help them be more effective and more confident in their leadership role. Gifted, seasoned Covenant leaders from around the country shared wisdom gleaned from years of church leadership on the interpersonal skills of planning & facilitating meetings, developing a team of lay leaders, relating to pastoral staff, dealing with conflict, and managing pastor and lay leader transitions. They were also guided in the technical skills of understanding financial statements & budgets, maintaining proper Insurance & risk management practices, operating under the church’s Constitution & By-Laws, and using digital communication strategies. Participants from large churches, small churches, urban, suburban and town & country churches alike said they were encouraged and felt better equipped to serve their church as a result of the training.
