Vitality Resource – Heart, Mind and Strength

The Heart, Mind, and Strength workshop offered by the Great Lakes Conference is a transformative tool designed to invigorate our churches and strengthen their community bonds. Led by our dedicated GLC liaison Peg Cichon, this workshop serves as a powerful tool for congregations seeking to harness the unique gifts of their members. Recently, Life Covenant Canton embraced this opportunity welcoming around 80 attendees spanning various ages.

Lead Pastor Jared Van Voorst expressed his admiration for Peg’s ability to connect with each attendee personally—learning names and engaging with members of the congregation in meaningful ways. This personal touch created an atmosphere where individuals felt valued and seen. Many left feeling revitalized, having discovered how their unique strengths and gifts contribute to building up the body of the church.

Participants discovered their unique areas of expertise and spiritual gifts while gaining insight into how they are “wired” to serve God effectively while identifying specific next steps they can take toward fulfilling their church’s mission. The workshop illuminated a powerful truth: not everyone needs to be everything for one another. Instead, we are called to embrace our distinct talents and passions as assets that enhance our collective mission. By identifying specific next steps tailored to each individual’s passions and skills, they began uncovering ways these assets can empower them to create an even stronger church.

If your church seeks to unlock its potential and empower its members through shared knowledge of individual gifts, I encourage you to reach out to Peg Cichon. Get ready to embark on a journey that celebrates each person’s contributions—creating a vibrant community united in purpose and passion!
