Last Supper at the Old Dining Hall at PLCBC

On August 10th, during Family Camp 4, we gathered for a truly heartfelt “Last Supper” in the old dining hall at Portage Lake Covenant Bible Camp. It was a day filled with nostalgia and joy as we celebrated the many wonderful memories created within those walls. Sunday morning began with a beautiful worship service that seamlessly transitioned into the dedication and groundbreaking of our brand-new Dining Hall, which is set to begin construction this month!

A large group of people who love PLCBC came together to witness this monumental moment where the new dining hall will soon stand. It was incredible to see such a large group of passionate PLCBC “family members” come together to celebrate this milestone. We shared laughter, delicious food, and engaging conversations while enjoying our final meal (it wasn’t really the final meal – as Family Camp 4 had a few more days to go) in a space that has hosted so many incredible gatherings over the past 50+ years. While it’s bittersweet to bid farewell to our old dining hall, which has served us through so many good times— from sharing good meals to playing fun games and enjoying true fellowship, this old dining hall has been a cornerstone of our camp—we are brimming with excitement for what lies ahead!

It’s time for change! With the need for several repairs, the lack of air conditioning, and space becoming increasingly cramped, it was clear that we needed to move forward. With great appreciation for all that this building has provided us—along with a sprinkle of sadness—we bid farewell to the old dining hall. But let’s look ahead with excitement! We are thrilled about making new memories in our future gathering place, which is expected to be ready by the summer camping season of 2026! Here’s to new beginnings and all the amazing experiences yet to come!
