Help Us Plant the Next GLC Covenant Church – Fall 2020 Update
Church planting has proven to be one of the most effective ways to reach people who do not yet know Jesus. New churches bring both hope and help to inner-city, metro urban, suburban, and rural communities, and the Great Lakes Conference is committed to planting churches where God leads us when He provides the resources to do so.
To that end, we are asking churches and individuals throughout the Great Lakes Conference to help us plant the next four churches. Because we invest an average of $75,000 in each new church plant, we are seeking to raise $300,000. Thanks to a generous Matching Grant of $150,000, every contribution we receive from churches or individuals for church planting (up to a total of $150,000) is being matched by our donor. So far we have received $32,581 from churches and $39,409 from individuals for a total of $71,990. With these funds we planted LifeChurch – Riverside in April, and we are almost ready to plant our next church (probably in Youngstown, OH).
Although the pace of church planting has slowed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, it hasn’t stopped. God still wants hurting people helped and lost people found. We currently have several prospective church planters developing core groups in Michigan and Ohio, and we would love to be prepared to plant those churches when God opens the door for us to do so.
