Annual Meeting 2024: Workshops & Banquet
After the Ministerium Meeting on Friday the pastors and other attendees proceeded to the workshops they had signed up for when they registered. The GLC offered six workshops, and all were well attended and received. Here is a list of the workshops and those that led them:
- Know Your Church’s Purpose, Set Direction, Stay the Course; Led by Alan Foreman
- Seven Systems for a Fruitful Church; Led by Alan Tumpkin and Alex Rahill II
- Being A Lighthouse: Maximizing your Ministry Impact in your Community through Sharing your Facility; Led by Rob Hall
- The Dynamics of a Healthy Church Chair – Lead Pastor Relationship; Led by Garth McGrath
- How to Maintain Church Unity in an Election Year; Led by Paul Robinson and Justin Bowers
- Emotional Health and Contemplative Spirituality: Essential Elements for Deeper Transformation in Learning to Love and Live Like Jesus; Led by Marcie Rahill and Joe Muzzi
It was so nice seeing the “old” relationships being renewed and the new relationships being forged in between the two sessions and during the meal times.
Once the workshops were finished we moved into the dinner banquet. Faith Covenant had set up 20 tables with tablecloths and centerpieces and provided a delicious Mediterranean meal which was healthy and filling.
At 6:00 Jody and Garth asked that everyone find the table that had been assigned to them and was written on their nametag to begin the Mission Planning Cycle discussion.
Every table had been given large flipchart size paper to write on and attach post-it notes to, so everyone could give input to the questions provided. The time spent answering these questions was quite productive. The walls surrounding the banquet room were covered in large paper with so many answers to the thought provoking questions. The GLC looks forward to going through these important answers and providing feedback at the next Annual Celebration.
The evening ended with a meaningful Worship Service with beautiful praise filled songs sung with spiritedness and an important message was given from Paul Robinson, Interim Executive Minister of Serve Locally for the ECC.
