GLC Annual Celebration is Around the Corner! April 24-25

Every year, the GLC organizes an extraordinary gathering that helps bring together our vibrant community of 70+ churches, our pastors, along with church attenders and members. While not everyone can make it, this annual event remains one of the largest and most impactful gatherings for our Conference family – a time of connection, learning and celebration. Our Celebration continues to be a vital opportunity for those across our Conference to come together and grow. We sincerely hope you’ll be among those who find it a meaningful and uplifting experience.

The celebration kicks off on Friday morning, April 24 with our Ministerial Association yearly meeting. This meeting sets the tone for connection and vision among our ministry leaders. The meeting starts at 9:00am and will conclude around noon. After lunch, we’re excited to offer a robust lineup of six dynamic workshops—each running 90 minutes—many led by a powerhouse team from the ECC. You’ll have the opportunity to select two sessions: one in the early afternoon and another later in the day. These workshops are designed to equip, inspire, and encourage you in your ministry journey. Here are this year’s offerings:

1. Exploring Your Call to Ministry – Led by Dr. Hauna Ondrey – Professor of Church History and Academic Dean at NPTS
2. Unleashing the Power of Hope – Led by Ieishia Hawley – Director of Evangelism with Make and Deepen Disciples
3. “Not Spiritual” – Led by Jin Lee – Director of Pastoral Support and Practice with Serve Clergy
4. Renewed Discernment: Tools for Navigating Complexity in Ministry – Led by Rev. Cheryl Lynn Alexander-Bermúdez from NPTS’s Office of Contextual and Lifelong Learning
5. Renewed Vision for Community Development and Engagement – Led by Ramelia Williams – Director of Love Mercy Do Justice
6. Revitalizing the Church’s Digital Footprint – Led by a Panel of GLC Churches using Various Media Methods

Once workshops conclude, get ready to enjoy the delicious GLC Banquet—a feast paired with quality fellowship among old friends and new faces alike. This evening promises rejuvenation through good food and great company. The evening continues with worship featuring Ramelia Williams—Director of Love Mercy Do Justice Initiatives for the ECC—as our esteemed speaker. Together during worship we’ll share communion—a tangible reminder of Christ’s love—and present white roses symbolizing each person who came to Christ throughout this past year because of faithful work across our churches.

Saturday morning marks our Annual Meeting where leaders and delegates celebrate positive developments within our congregations while addressing essential Conference business—like voting on Board nominations, church closings or adoptions, by-law updates, and approving next

We know your time is valuable—so after this session wraps up around lunchtime, boxed lunches are available (for those signed up) to enjoy together at Life Church Canton or take on-the-go as you head home.

Before long we’ll be planning anew—the location and date still to be determined—for another year.  Mark your calendars for April (most likely), we can’t wait to celebrate all God has done and will do through each one of you at this extraordinary gathering that keeps us united in purpose and faith!
