Help Us Plant Three Churches in the GLC
The Great Lakes Conference has the opportunity to plant as many as 3 new churches in the next 18 months. You can help us by making a contribution to our Mission Friends for Church Planting fund here.
Jalen Seawright is currently a Church Planting Resident at Life Church Southfield. Our hope is that Jalen and a launch team consisting of friends, family and Life Church Southfield members will be ready to start Life Church Troy in July 2026.
Young Yi is currently a Church Planting Resident at Life Church Canton. Our hope is that Young and a launch team of friends, family and Life Church Canton members will be ready to start our first GLC Asian-American Church (Kindred Church) in northwest Detroit in the Fall of 2026.
Edwin Youngblood is currently convening a group of people for worship in his home in Columbia, Tennessee. We are exploring a creative church-planting pathway as a “house-church” church plant.
You can read more about Jalen, Young, and Edwin here.
In order to assure Church Planters that Conference and Denominational support for their project will be sustained for 3 (or in some cases 5) full years of ministry, the Conference established a policy that a project must be fully funded before it is approved. That’s why you are reading this appeal. Every contribution will make a difference. Thanks to a balance in our matching grant, donations by churches or individuals up to a total of $50K will be matched, and the funds put toward the next projects.
Once again, you may contribute to these church plant projects here.
Alternatively, you may send a check to The Great Lakes Conference, 21840 W. Nine Mile Road, Southfield, MI 48075. If you would like to make a donation of stock or RMDs from your IRA, please contact Rob Westphal (our GLC Finance Officer) at [email protected].
Mission Friends, your contribution not only helps start a new mission post in our conference, but also gives you the opportunity to partner with God in His kingdom work. These new plants will reach people who are far away from Christ and become a source of hope and help in Jesus’ name. Thank you for your consideration.
