GLC Ministerium Meeting 2024

The Great Lakes Conference Ministerial Association held its Annual Meeting on Friday morning of the Annual Celebration. The informative and concise meeting was led by Ken White, lead pastor of Forest Park Covenant Church, Muskegon, MI, and Chair of the Ministerial Association.

Debbie Montzingo from Bethany Covenant Church in Lyndhurst, OH led a thoughtful Lectio Divina session, with Van Gogh’s “The Sower”: using the painting by Van Gogh as the focal point. The meditation around this inspiring work of art was a meaningful way to start the gathering.

Deirdra Clark (ECC’s Corporate Secretary) provided an informative update on the proposed changes to the credentialing process. She answered questions from the group and gathered valuable feedback.

Georgia Hill pastor of LifeChurch Riverside (Detroit, MI) shared her personal journey and how she came to be a part of the ECC community. Her interesting journey was a powerful reminder of how God reaches us and uses us for His work. Semmeal Thomas (pastor of City Covenant, Detroit, MI) prayed for Georgia in closing.

Garth McGrath introduced Paul Robinson, Interim Executive Minister of Serve Locally for the ECC (to be voted in at Gather). Paul told us a little about himself and what he does.

Carl Franzon gave the treasurer’s report. He presented the latest financial updates, ensuring transparency and keeping us informed about the state of the GLC’s Ministerium’s finances.

Donearl Johnson (LifeChuch Auburn Hills, MI) was nominated and approved as the new GLC Ministerium’s secretary. Lynn McCloghlan (Thornapple Covenant Church, Grand Rapids, MI) was nominated to be in the COMS committee. She was approved. The licenses for the pastors that had COMS meetings on Thursday were approved.

Garth McGrath gave the staff report and talked about his much needed sabbatical in California. He also discussed the upcoming UNITE dates. Jody Eidnes (Conference Administrator) provided information regarding the upcoming workshops.

The meeting concluded with a prayer led by Jay Fast (pastor at Harbert Community Church, Sawyer, MI). Meeting adjourned at 10:35am.

It was a productive and informative gathering, and we’re grateful for the participation and insights from everyone in attendance.
