Dream Again Revitalization Seminar

Simple Church Workshop

Annual Thematic Goal Workshop

"Dream Again" Revitalization Seminar

Across the United States and throughout most denominations, 85% of churches are experiencing an attendance plateau or decline. While there is no quick fix, easy formula, or guaranteed program for helping a church in decline realize positive change, there are strategic things that a church can do to re-kindle its Biblical mission. Real change begins when church leaders and congregations open themselves to God and are transformed by His Spirit in response to the Great Commandments and the Great Commission.

Congregations that want to be Biblically grounded and culturally relevant as they seek to share Christ will benefit from this workshop. Likewise, those that have heart for God and a love for lost people will learn new skills for reaching their communities for Christ. It is possible that a church with limited resources of facilities, personnel and finances can still have an effective ministry. More often than not, vision and compelling ministry are not a function of resources, but of resolve, “Are they willing to pay the price to change?”

Those congregations that have committed leadership, who are willing to change, who are willing to work through conflicts, and are open to coaching, may have the capability of turning around and becoming a healthy, growing church. For these churches, their best days of ministry can be ahead of them, not behind them. They can build on their past as a foundation for future ministry. For “Dream Again,” this is a key concept - the church must learn how to honor its past as an anchor for change.

The Dream Again Seminar lasts Friday evening and Saturday. Superintendent Richard Lucco and Associate Larry Sherman serve as leaders. In addition, please look at the Introduction and Outline for the pre-requisites, schedule, etc.

"Simple Church" Workshop

This model identified by Thom S. Rainer and Eric Geiger in their book by the same name, talks about the importance of this.

Their definition of the Simple Church is…

A simple church is designed around a straightforward and strategic process that moves people through the stages of spiritual growth. The leadership and the church are clear about the process (clarity) and are committed to executing it. The process flows logically (movement) and is implemented in each area of the church (alignment). The church abandons everything that is not in the process (focus).

The flow is simple – and can be described as following:

Clarity ⇒ Movement ⇒ Alignment ⇒ Focus

Contact Dr. Larry Sherman for more information or to schedule a 3-4 hour workshop.

"Annual Thematic Goal" Workshop

This model developed by Patrick Lencioni in Silos, Politics, and Turf Wars was also demonstrated at the Willow Creek Summit. During this workshop, the consultant serves as a facilitator to get the leaders of the church focused on finding:

  • One Thematic Goal for the next year
  • 3-8 Defining Objectives that help the church make progress toward that Goal.
  • Develop a process each month for the leaders to evaluate progress and make adjustments.

Contact Dr. Larry Sherman for more information or to schedule a 3-4 hour workshop.
